Who Would Have Thought That The Predators Would Want To Live In Texas?

Apparently, the Predators have decided to settle in Texas. According to KNGB News, Troublemaker Studios recently used Canyon Lake Gorge as one of the backgrounds for the Predators' home planet in the upcoming sci-fi sequel / reboot / whatever. Canyon Lake Gorge IS about an hour and a half outside of the environmental epicenter, hemp-friendly, and hippie-loving city of Austin, TX. I guess the aliens' dreadlocks should have given a clue as to what city they would want to set roots down next to. KNGB wrote that "Specifically, they went to a spot that 10 years ago didn’t exist, but after (the) flood of 2001, when water went over the spillway at Canyon Lake, a huge gorge was cut out of the landscape, and apparently the filmmakers thought the gorge was the perfect look to create an alien landscape."

A group of humans will find themselves stranded on a planet home to Predators and must survive the horrors they encounter.

Predators is being directed by Nimrod Antal and stars Topher Grace, Adrien Brody, Walton Goggins, Alice Braga, Danny Trejo, Oleg Taktarov, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, Louiz Ozawa, and Derek Mears.

The movie is scheduled to come out on July 9th, 2010.
