I am living proof of the saying, “Good things come to those who wait.” After meeting Gene Simmons when he was given the key to the City of Dallas five years ago, my goal to stand in the presence of every original KISS member has finally been achieved. I met Ace Frehley and Peter Criss when they visited Dallas for personal appearances. Paul Stanley was the last one on the list I needed to cross off, and the grand opening of The Colony, TX’s Rock and Brews restaurant provided my opportunity.
Anyone who follows KISS knows they are big supporters of our military and veterans. They’ve raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Wounded Warriors and even hired veterans as personnel on their last U.S. tour. It will come as no surprise that the two KISS founding fathers used the grand opening ceremony for the newest addition to their successful national chain of Rock and Brew restaurants as an opportunity to thank veterans and active military members for their service.
After a full morning of TV, radio, and online interviews, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony complete with a military march and the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance. The two welcomed each and every veteran and their family as they walked the red carpet into Rock and Brews for the lunch. They posed for pictures with each group and then made their way into the dining area to walk around and talk to everyone in attendance. The two also took selfies with those who wanted one.
Rock and Brews has been open to the public for a while now. However, the grand opening made everything official with a bang. The Colony, TX’s Rock and Brews is ready to Rock and Roll All Nite and Party Every Day!
