I am so excited to see another Indiana Jones adventure from the creative team of Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford. I think Star Wars: The Force Awakens more than proved that Ford still has what it takes to make a great action film, both in acting chops and physically. Sure, he broke his leg; but that didn't stop him from delivering a great performance and coming back to work. Ford is a man's man!
I also personally loved Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull... refrigerator scene and all. I don't see how a flying refrigerator is any different than a life raft falling out of a plane and the occupants landing safely at the end of a snowy hill and giant waterfall. And it's so hard to buy dimensional alien beings after hearts being pulled out, people melting from the Ark of the Covenant, and Indy walking across an invisible bridge to meet a knight who's been alive for hundreds of years.
"The Indiana Jones 5 filming start date has been set for April 2019, according to the acclaimed director. That will give Steven Spielberg ample time to complete the film by its July 2020 release date.
In his acceptance speech for a special award at the Rakuten TV Empire Awards, Spielberg revealed that he plans to begin filming Indiana Jones 5 in April 2019 in the U.K.:
'It’s always worth the trip when I get to work with this deep bench of talent coming out of the UK. The actors, and the crew, the chippies, the sparks, the drivers — everybody who has helped me make my movies here, and will continue helping me make my movies here when I come back in April 2019 to make the fifth Indiana Jones movie right here.'”
